Review: A classic looking watch. Just the job.

Review: This is undeniably an attractive watch. Rose-gold plated and chunky on the wrist, perfectly matched to a brown strap. The face is easy to read and the "retro" hand design has been well conceived and executed. If all you want is a piece of chunky wrist candy, this watch will do nicely. If you're looking for a functional chronograph/ tachymeter, go elsewhere. The mechanism is extremely basic with chronograph function to just 1 second intervals, measured solely via two of the three tiny dials on the watch's face. The main sweep hand is used only for real-time seconds which means the graduated tachymeter scale is useless for practical timing purposes. The third small dial shows where the watch is on a 24-hour cycle, which is both typical of cheap Japanese mechanisms and of little real value. On the watch I received, the chronograph buttons were hard to use and stiff. My watch was on its way back to Amazon within 30 minutes of arrival (!) to be replaced by a Timex T2N699. More expensive, but you get what you pay for.
