Description: Moorcroft Winter Hope Vase, MCR-224 Originally founded as a studio in 1897 within a large ceramic company, James Macintyre & Co. Moorcroft pottery soon made its mark on the world. Today, Moorcroft leads the world of art pottery with its own distinctive design style. We are proud to present this Moorcroft collection featuring stunning pottery designs. Designer Emma Bossons FRSA has been hard at work creating a diminutive collection of miniature vases, each featuring seasonal flowers, one for each month of the year. Her inaugural piece is Winter Hope, in which white snowdrops lift their heads through a morning frost bringing cheer to an ice-cold winter's day. Each month a new Miniature of the Month will be launched so that, during the year, you can build up your own miniature collection of seasonal florals.     Description: The Orrefors Blue Mayflower Vase brought to you by Scottish and Scandinavian Designs. Orrefors is a name synonymous with beautiful glass throughout Scandinavia. It is based in Smlandin Sweden on the site of an old ironworks and continued on this site until 2012 when it closed it's doors. There has been a number of notable designers such as Simon Gate; Edward Hald; Sven Palmquist and Vicke Lindstrand to name but a few all influential in the development of the Orrefors brand. The Mayflower range was developed by Jan Johansson in 1972 incorporating a ring of coloured glass in the base of the vase which due to the refractive qualities seemed to flow up the petals when viewed from above or at their very tips when viewed from the side. In the first series, there were 4 colours known as the seasons - green for spring; red for summer; lime green for autumn and blue for winter of which this vase is and example. Both signed Orrefors and JJ for Jan Johansson with production number 979011 dates the piece to 1979.
