Description: The Sterling Silver & Black Murano Glass Chainmail Necklace by NAIIAD. This pendant is handmade with small Sterling silver rings assembled one at a time in the Byzantine pattern, and combined with a handcrafted glass bead carefully selected from high-quality artisans based in Venice, Italy. The small black lentil shaped glass bead is lined with 24kt yellow gold foil and Sterling silver foil. It measures approximately 14mm. The segment of chain maille is approximately 3 cm long. Each glass bead is handcrafted and therefore unique. The placement and the size/shape of the gold & silver foil are completely random with no two exactly alike. The Sterling silver necklace chain is approximately 16inches/40cm long. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like a longer chain. About the Designer Born in the beautiful South of France, I moved to Ireland 18 years ago. After travelling the world and doing various jobs, I learnt metalsmithing and jewellery design at the AFEDAP Jewellery School in Paris. I then discovered the art of chainmail, the ancient art of assembling rings one at a time to weave fabric like patterns with metal. Chain maille is beautifully fluid and tactile, and I love exploring the endless creative possibilities offered by mixing chain maille with traditional silversmithing techniques. It allows me to create modern, feminine and unique pieces of jewellery which are a true pleasure to wear. The creations are an expression of my own personal journey, finding and embracing my deep nature as a woman, my inner strength as well as my femininity and sensuality. Trying to learn and grow more each day. Holding my head high yet so grateful for all that I have My jewellery is an expression of all that I aspire to be, and hope to inspire other women to become through their own personal journey.
