Description: The Sterling Silver & Glass Gala Necklace by NAIIAD The chain maille section of this necklace is handcrafted with small Sterling silver rings assembled one at a time in the Byzantine weave, and combined with a beautiful glass bead carefully selected from high-quality artisans based in Venice, Italy. The lentil shaped bead is lined with Sterling silver foil and decorated with multicolour glass dots. It measures approximately 20mm diameter. The placement and colours on this glass bead are random and no two beads are ever exactly alike. Each glass bead is handcrafted and therefore unique. The Sterling silver snake chain is 16 inches/40 cm long. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like a longer chain (18 inches/45 cm long) About the Designer Born in the beautiful South of France, I moved to Ireland 18 years ago. After travelling the world and doing various jobs, I learnt metalsmithing and jewellery design at the AFEDAP Jewellery School in Paris. I then discovered the art of chainmail, the ancient art of assembling rings one at a time to weave fabric like patterns with metal. Chain maille is beautifully fluid and tactile, and I love exploring the endless creative possibilities offered by mixing chain maille with traditional silversmithing techniques. It allows me to create modern, feminine and unique pieces of jewellery which are a true pleasure to wear. The creations are an expression of my own personal journey, finding and embracing my deep nature as a woman, my inner strength as well as my femininity and sensuality. Trying to learn and grow more each day.
