Description: The Ceramic Medium Flower Vase Set by Helen Rebecca Ceramics. These vases are cast from a vinegar bottle, a 1/2 pint milk bottle and a square medicine bottle. The ceramic vases have a shiny, translucent, white glaze with a dreamy landscape horizon. Helen has 'trained' her glazes to melt like a rainy forest day or a steamy hot jungle! The composition of glazes is different on each piece, which is how is should be. The glazes contrast with the raw, unglazed fine white matte stoneware clay, making them very tactile. Use with flowers, foliage cuttings, leaves and stalks, they are versatile as vases or a set of curiously curated objects. Heights: 11, 12. 5 and 13cm This is 1 set of 3 x medium bottle vases with hand painted black, green, turquoise and blue landscape glaze design, unique to each piece. Ceramic vases are left to dry slowly and fired to high a kiln temperature. This ensures that all ceramics and pottery are dishwasher, microwave and frost proof, although they will keep their shine better if washed by hand. All glazes are lead free. Each vase is signed and completely individual. Please note that the vases are hand glazed and individually painted onto each one. Description: Atlas Bottle Vases are inspired by the Volvic water bottle with the mountain scenery design. The message of water purity embossed in plastic resin is so conflicting and hypocritical that I decided to make my own mountain landscapes with earthy clay and melting glazes. The glazes are a composition of 6 glazes and oxides that blend and fuse together at 1220 degrees c in the kiln. The whites and clear glazes melt l like an avalanche and the greens and blues are like distant horizons and dreamy places! But I like everyone to see what they see. The bottles are slip cast from plaster moulds which I make from original bottles. I love to select bottles from completely different times in history and curate them in collections together.
